I cannot fucking believe someone cancelled Lilo and Stitch... and it wasn't even me! Betrayed 😭😭😭😭
-
But for real though. Lilo is a child. She's 6. She acts out because she needs someone to connect with her and Nani, for all her effort, can't do that. At least not at first. Lilo is bullied at school and that makes her even more alone, resentful, and anti-social.

Lilo finding Stitch is a story in a child finally finding someone else that actually understands her emotions in a way that allows her to process them and learn to far reconnecting with her family and others. Any "take" that considers a grieving 6yo child an "abuser"...

...is a misreading of the text. Any Lilo and Stitch "take" that does not also consider the racial and colonial dynamics to the story (Lilo's bullies are largely white and it's the US government that isn't accommodating to Nani) is a misreading of the text.

When I write woke takes, I write HOT TAKES with quoted evidence from the text that considers the themework of the medium holistically. Get this weak shit off my feed, it's embarrassing
