          1. [LONG] Bernie or Bust is stupid. To be clear: I'm not talking about leftists who don't vote on principle. I'm talking about very online progressives who were attached to Bernie as an individual and are now lashing out with no ability to see the bigger picture.

I've been "friendship ended with electoralism" for a while, but I'm of course still frustrated by the ultimate failure of the Sanders campaign. The disaster on Super Tuesday more or less said to me that his campaign was over, but it still hurt when he called it.

But unlike, I guess, all of Twitter, I want my frustration to go to something that actually does shit. How this makes me feel is the least important part of all this, I'm privileged as fuck.

You are NOT "teaching the DNC a lesson" by staying home in November. 13% of voting Democrats are upset that Biden won. A fraction of that is Bernie or Bust and you are disproportionately more likely to live in a safe blue state. m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_5e973667c5b6a1d56ac9ea4f

There are more moderates than there are progressives not voting Biden. If progressives don't vote and Biden loses, what the DNC will actually decide is that progressives aren't a reliable demographic and they'll shift further right to court centrists and moderate Rs...

...who outnumber you and vote more consistently. Dems want Donald Trump gone more than anything right now. Does it suck people care about who's in the oval office more than tearing down the system? Yup. Is a lot of that the media using Trump as a distraction from the system? Yup

But telling ordinary people who could really use a $15 minwage or a public option that actually, you want the fascist to win because class consciousness neoliberalism something principles radicalization praxis something is... alienating the people you're supposed to care about.

So what just vote Biden then? Fall in line? Not really. If you live in a safe/non-winner take all state I highly recommend voting for the PSL. They organize outside of elections and they could use the attention and potential federal funding pslweb.org

TLDR: Bernie or Bust feels good. Accelerationism feels good. There's a sick joy in watching Trump win just to see these smug neolibs who trashed #MeToo for political gain melt down. But 4 more years of GOP control is everything wrong with Biden but worse. Objectively.

"Stop voting and organize instead!" It's WAY HARDER to do that with Republicans in power. Remember: we won't have mass strikes under an administration that uses the NLRB to stop unions from even forming in the first place
