    1. Except study after study shows racial bias is a larger predictor for supporting Trump than economic anxiety. theintercept.com/2018/09/18/2016-election-race-class-trump/ @fooly_cooly/1284920584640528388

People who are genuinely worried about economic inequality tend to vote D already. Because working class people aren't stupid. They understand that there's one party that at least pretends to care about union rights and protecting welfare and another that... doesn't.

If you're constantly worried that Mexicans are coming to take your job, but then oppose all measures that would help you keep your job and wages, it's not the job thing you're worried about now is it? It's the Mexican thing.

Support for Trump's wall increases as people get further away from the border. Meaning, the less likely you are to have actually met a Mexican who's "stealing your job", the MORE likely you are to want to do something about said Mexicans pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2017/03/08/in-republicans-views-of-a-border-wall-proximity-to-mexico-matters/

Am I saying never reach out to Republicans and try and appeal to their material needs? No, obviously. And of course somewhere there's a white dude who would've made a great leftist but they were cancelled on Twitter and now they're a Nazi. Oops. Nonetheless...

This idea that there's an insignificant number of "real racists" who support Trump, and the rest are just good ole boys who want the steel and coal jobs back just isn't true. It's not. Stop pretending it is?

A section of the population just hates black people, immigrants, trans people, gay people, disabled people, and anyone who isn't them. Or if they don't hate us, they still think we should come below them on the social hierarchy. We need to address that before working them them!

If you support Trump rn you're either fascist or fascist adjacent. You support him because he hates the same people you do. The GOP has been bleeding conservatives and moderates who have realized this already. It's them and libs we need to move left. Fascists aren't worth it
