    1. Last night I wrote a response to the question of what to do about Trump if voting isn't the answer. I was kinda on the fence about posting it but here it is anyway: medium.com/@moblack.tgu8/on-trumps-fascism-what-is-to-be-done-484a2c0040d3

In broad strokes: 1. Shaming people into voting is counterproductive and borderline abusive. People *are* voting, in record numbers and for progressive policy. It hasn't translated to reality because the system is undemocratic. Don't blame the victims for their own suffering.

      2. A general strike would be the best chance at putting pressure on Trump to leave office. Targeting corporate profits targets Republican lawmakers, who Trump needs on his side to perform any kind of soft coup.

        3. Unionization in the US currently is at around 10%, 6% in the private sector. Unions are weak and deradicalized, so we're in no position for a general strike. Yet.

          4. Mass protests, if large enough in scale and clear enough in messaging, can have the same effect as a general strike. The people have been practicing mass protests all summer. Mass protests have challenges that a general strike doesn't.
