    1. Understanding the American Civil War as a labor conflict instead of a military one is one of the most intuitive things I've ever learned. So much so it's mindboggling how the view is not at all taught in school.

    Like, we're taught a version of the civil war that focuses on every actor except the black people who were actually slaves. Isn't that fucky? I mean it's not surprising but it's fucky
