Capitalists just shamelessly profiting off of every social ill huh? @Songbird/1321844329904680960

Also if we enter 213 weeks of lockdown into 2023 it won't be because the state overreacted to the virus. It will be because capitalism failed to contain it, leaving us in a limbo state of incalculable death for no reason other than corporate profit

Not sure how anyone can look outside and go "You know what's scary? How seriously the state responded to the coronavirus threat."

Ready for my dystopia? It's 2023. Hundreds of millions of people have died to COVID-19, but it's become a mundane fact of life. People wear masks or when the virus spikes and go out when it doesn't. Every once in a while a curfew in this or that city will go up for bars...
-
...but the two things that stay open no matter what are work and school. Everyone works in person, even though we know we don't have to and we know it'll kill us. We work because we don't want to join the millions being added to the houseless population every month...
-
... Corporations have figured out how to rebalance the numbers so their stocks go up, but never have workers been so miserable. And anyone desperate enough to protest this is harassed or killed by an ever expanding police state that scares the opposition back into hiding.

See it's a good dystopia because this is what is currently happening right now. We already live in the dystopia. We're already fucked.
