Vaush considers the main objective of the left moving forward to push the Democratic party left via entryism, and to force social democratic reforms by making up a large enough wing of the Democratic Party to wield power.

Vaush not only believes dual power and independent left organizations are secondary, he just flat out doesn't think they'll work. He said as much in his conversation with Zoe, where whenever she would bring up syndicalism or direct action movements he'd dismiss them as...

...never going to work. Vaush pays lip service to dual power but when's the last time he had a labor organizer or mutual aid organizer on his stream? Never. He's had plenty of progressive candidates for office, though.

The dangerous thing about Vaush is that the logical end state of his ideology is liberalism with extra steps.

      1. Direct action is cool but we'll never get anything done with Republicans in power 2. So just this one election we should focus on campaigning for the lesser of two evils 3. We can't alienate ourselves from the liberals we want to radicalize 4. Direct action is cool but...

Vaush complains that the left isn't powerful enough to engage in revolutionary activity but then wants to put off all revolutionary activity until the next election. He said unions are strong enough to genstrike but then rejects the need to build militant unions

Vaush's practice is indistinguishable from some resistance lib who voted for Bernie in the primaries and Biden in the general. His real aim is to vote blue down ballot until climate change forces some kind of revolution, and then hope it's a good revolution and not a fascist one
      1. …in reply to @__MoBlack
He doesn't seem to realize that revolutions, either anarchist or Maoist or fascist, are organized for years, decades even. He seems to think that it Bernie "radicalizes" enough people into thinking Medicare for All is socialism we'll get a revolution someday out if the blue.

If Vaush was just honest about being a social democrat who found the idea of anarchism interesting in theory, I'd be fine with that. But what he's actually doing is pulling libertarian socialism to the right. Having worked with activists for a while now it's so obviously true
