      1. So, to reiterate - the funny thing about anime gatekeeping is that gatekeepers aren't actually anime fans at all. They are ONLY in our spaces because they crave an in-group that harasses people with progressive politics

      The guy who went viral for example, well I can't tell for sure because he tweets at such a high frequency that Twitter wouldn't let me scroll far enough, but he doesn't tweet about anime very much at all. He tweets about how much he hates that "activists" are "invading" his space

    These people - they don't keep up with seasonals, they don't talk about what they're watching, they don't do analysis or fan art or reviews or theories or even reaction content. You could run their accounts without ever having seen an anime. They're the used teabags of the hobby
