RE: 6th egg - I think I can be a little more optimistic about the show after seeing some other takes
-
First off I can't imagine Ai and Sawaki, like, getting together, and egg portraying that as healthy. I think this would be wildly inconsistent with how egg sees relationships. So that's a major bad ending (aka rotten eggs state) out of the way
-
Then there's a compelling argument for Ai simply having trusted herself to not like Sawaki at all. May not even be an issue next Tuesday. @joyceestick/1361902481177862146
-
If the show is setting up an Ai likes her teacher after all, it'd most likely be setting up a grooming and abuse arc - two heavy topics the show has already handled extremely well. So it'd be weird if it dropped the ball second time around
-
If Sawaki isn't an abuser and really doesn't like Ai then an arc about how this kind of unrequited love is unhealthy could be in the works instead
-
So really the only realistic rotten egg states are 1. Unrequited love where the idea of them being together is romanticized even though it doesn't happen 2. She doesn't DATE date her teacher but there's romantic moments that're portrayed as a good and helpful thing for Ai

The rotten eggs are the minority of all possible states, so the future of egg more or less continues to be sound and hopeful
