      I remember back in January praising this scene from WEP 2. Ai is speaking to one of the Accas in a speaker but she can't him. This could've been a really easy shot/reverse shot thing but they added all these little movements and taps Ai does instead

    They turned what would've been 20 forgettable seconds before an action scene in any other show into a character-building scene just by paying attention and caring about their work. See, WEP 1 didn't actually win me over. It was WEP 2 that did that with little things like this

      But in WEP 12 all the shots are so... functional. They shove you from place to place just to get it over with. It's passable but that's it. All the little details are missing. It's like remembering a loved one is gone because their socks aren't on the floor like normal

        Again 12 vs 2. Even something like goop. In WEP 2 you could feel it on Ai's face based on the way she moves and interacts with her surroundings. But there are no details like that in 12. It's all plastic

          And so watching it this show weekly felt like watching a fresh talent in the anime industry declare that they were gonna "beat this business and make ART damn it!" only to learn the hard way why we don't actually do that here. It's like watching dreams die in real time
