    I'm asking because apparently my Yasuke thing got a lot of upvotes on reddit, but as a consequence the comments is just a bunch of people saying that the show's only redeeming quality is that has a black guy in it so it deserves the score it's getting just fine

      One main way I judge the success of my writing is how many bullshit arguments I can preempt, and I didn't really do much media analysis because that's not what the piece was about (I also didn't take notes so I wouldn't be ready). So now I'm like "maybe I should fix that"

        But I don't want to sink energy into something that the people who actually care about what I have to say don't think is necessary, especially since I'm so overworked as of late
