The return... of the Code Geass THREADS R2E1
-
we might skip around after this one
-
Mo: "He's in a simulation" Rag: "... no."
-
Rag: "Do you want me to just tell yo-" Mo: "No no I got this"
-
Lelouch complaining he doesn't want to work because corporations and governments would be above him as if his actual power isn't making hierarchy happen
-
We have agreed that, although we have our reservations about it, Code Geass makes 86 look like a 10/10 masterpiece
-
Rag: "Tell me what your position is, Contradiction Man!!"
-
his NAME is "Black King"
-
she does a backflip because it's cool and sexy, but somewhere along the way they realized she's supposed to be kicking someone too so she pivots in midair on absolutely nothing amazing
-
Mo: "she's flipping it'd fall out" Rag: "no never"
-
Lulu you're uh, looking a little dictatorial there bud
-
Lelouch talks like the show is about giving power to the powerless, but the show is actually about how having mindcontrol powers would be, like, totally sweet and stuff
-
He more or less says "they made me think I was a normie, however I am built different"
-
at least Suzaku is back
-
episode 2!
-
I can't take anymore of this liberalism
-
it wasn't a simulation but memory alteration
-
I like C2
-
the show has abandoned a lot of pretenses from the first season, focusing in on Lelouch just being the mastermind genius who controls all the other characters with 192 IQ plays
-
I guess I appreciate the show just being what it is, but also, it doesn't work thematically. Especially since, on paper, Lelouch wants to build a world that's opposite of what he's creating
-
Raghava's helping me: "Lelouch's solution to the problem of the strong trampling the weak is him saying 'things would be so much better if I was in charge', "And then the show bends over backwards to make this diagetically true. Things really do get better when Lulu's in charge"
-
that's not a double post there's an awkward pause in the dialogue
-
Kallen really wants to be a slave
-
(show's words not ours) (it's funny because I was just saying I was getting Raphtalia vibes)
-
"don't look at me you pervert!" did she forget what she was wearing?
-
more to the point: Kallen has some legitimate fears about Geass in this scene. That they take away her agency, especially since she doesn't know if it's been used on her. But the show says these fears are both irrational and low-key what she wants anyway
-
Rag has another thing on Kallen: her agency is taken away from her anyway. Like the last episode had someone threaten to sell her into slavery, but she's basically Lelouch's slave now and a lot more objectified than last season
-
we just think, if she's gonna be running around in a sexy outfit, it should feel like she chose to wear it, and not that she was forced into it by the writers for our gratification
-
so in this shot, we could be characterizing her, but we're not
-
it cannot be stressed enough how contradictory Code Geass is Broke: "Self determination for all people" Woke: "Let Lelouch oppress you" "Tell me the answer Contradiction Man!!"
-
Lelouch: "I declare the United States of Lelouchistan" everyone in Britannia: "guess it's a thing now"
-
Mo and Raghava: "We declare the United States of Critical Weeb Theory" The CIA: "Podcasters making a government?"
-
No one agreed to the United States of Japan being a thing. The Black Knights didn't even want it. They don't have a form of government, or taxes, or buy-in or
-
scratch that he has the one room
-
wow R2 is really something
-
last one E3
-
So I just wanna say like, The United States of Japan is one room in a consolate, so in a different country that isn't even Area 11. He hasn't even reclaimed territory
-
Me in the Spanish embassy in Paris "The United States is no more! Here in this room I create a new country for weebs!" everyone: "I'm taking this seriously for some reason"
-
the narrative is praising Suzaku
-
"It's been three days since the United States of Japan has been established" the room... in that one embassy
-
We'll see how much of this I can watch, but that's it for now
