          1. I was looking at Medium and YouTube statistics today and thought it'd be fun to collect things I made that are unreasonably popular given that I spent 1 to 3 hours max making them

14,000 for complaining about Contrapoints. This was the first time anything I wrote blew up and I was very stressed at the time. I'm very happy it's not my most popular piece of writing of all time anymore link.medium.com/xmZLVCZ1rjb

My Vaush shitpost on YouTube has 1,000 views, making it the fourth most popular YouTube video I've done after Bullshit no Yuusha, Real Women Don't Love You, and the CWT collab with @joyceestick and @RebelPanda_ youtu.be/qXDyF9-LRic

Confused about the numbers? YouTube views are based on the algorithm. If you don't have a very popular or very specific video it won't show up in search results. So the views I do get are predictable and reach my subscribers reliably, but growth is pretty slow

Medium views are based on SEO. Medium also has an algorithm but it sucks. Most of your views come from social media and Google search results. So I'm more likely to get views from people just searching "Uzaki chan cancel culture" or something. But it's way more temperamental

Medium also pays better, but I haven't written a paid Medium piece since 2019, so I haven't been paid for my work for them in around as long

Bullshit no Yuusha. A light novel in length and format two years in the making that weaves 9 anime together into some form of a coherent analysis of a whole genre? It's great and I'm proud of it but it will never be as popular as the femboy penis essay. And that's okay 😅
