I often get asked, both on social media and irl, why we should even bother taking strong stances on say land back or abolition, when these positions "alienate the working class". We take those positions because they are necessary. These populations need liberation.

We can't pick positions based on what's currently popular with the working class. The working class is not in power. What is popular with the working class has a hard-left limit set by the ruling class. If you only support what's popular you accept these ruling class limiters

"But how do we gain the trust of the working class?" First of all we are working class too. But also, by directly answering people's needs. If the abolitionists are the ones who stand up to your boss or keep you off the street, abolition starts to sound less "out there"
