    1. I guess my socialist hot take is that saying you're against UBI because it's just a subsidy for landlords is a bit like saying you're against food stamps and government healthcare because they're a subsidy for shitty wages.

      I'm not sure what group of socialists is pro-UBI but anti-rent control, anti-union, and pro-austerity. I'm not sure who you're talking to when you make arguments like this.

        Everyone should be given enough money to live. This is NOT the same as saying everyone should be paid a living wage, because a lot of disabled people cannot work and live in poverty as a result
