      1. I don't think it's am exaggeration to say that we are watching the death of American 2D animation in real time. Of course work will continue by individuals but the industry is collapsing

      The companies that would be making animation are instead licensing as much anime as they can. Thanks to the poor perception/performance of anything "anime-inspired" like Yasuke or High Guardian Spice, studios don't want to make those either

    Major entertainment institutions, like The Academy, don't see animation as anything more but side projects parents put on to keep their kids still. Staff is being laid off masse. Every 2D animated project now needs a live action remake to "update" it. Bleak
