  1. "Views" on Twitter are not the same as views on video. My chainsaw video has 1000 views on YouTube (thanks, btw), meaning 1000 people clicked and watched at least 30 secs of it. "Viewing" a tweet just means it happened to exist on a screen at some point

      The number of times a tweet shows up on someone's screen for any reason is more accurately called an impression. And it's only useful for people who care about click-through rate (ie advertisers, businesses, and sometimes content creators)

        Twitter "views" are totally useless to average users because people don't chose to "view" a tweet, the app does. They do choose to like, rt, or comment tweets, so those numbers are shown. Transparent attempt to make Twitter look more active than it is, probably for investors
