                  1. Okay let's just knock Velma 4 out of the way

CN: Velma episode 4 I didn't talk much about the B plot from last time. Shaggy is doing fake therapy at the prison where Fred's being detained to try and find Velma's mom so she fucks him. As you can imagine, I didn't talk about it because it is bad and I do not like it

CN: Velma episode 4 Everyone in Crystal Cove only cares about hot people, except for Velma, who is of course definitely not obsessed with hot people

CN: Velma episode 4 Velma is now ranking all the girls in her school by attractiveness, because, as is usual with this show, we always lampshade problematic tropes right before simply doing the trope unironically with no pushback whatsoever

CN: Velma episode 4 The show is now simply ranting about the patriarchy to me. Not even in terms I disagree with. It is just hard to take seriously from the show that is doing all of the things it is complaining to me about

CN: Velma episode 4 "I can't believe I have to reinforce all these patriarchal beauty standards by ranking all the hottest girls in school" you literally don't have to do that, is the thing

CN: Velma episode 4 tsk, fine. I laughed. okay. fine. can the show be less painful now? please?

CN: Velma episode 4 The only person doing mystery solving is Shaggy, who, again, is just doing it to get laid. So. Where does that leave us? Where does that leave me and how I've foolishly chosen to spend my afternoon?

CN: Velma episode 4 He's literally a stalker though so why should I care about his future romantic conquests?

CN: Velma episode 4 I didn't do a lot of commentary because the A plot was Velma teaching the hot girls how to be ugly to release them from the patriarchy, only to learn that this, in and of itself, is patriarchal thinking. It was bad, etc etc

CN: Velma episode 4 There's like three big mystery arcs as of now: the serial killer, Daphne's birth parents, and Velma's mom. And I don't care about either of them. I still need to crystalize why exactly this is, but the threads lay out the basic idea

CN: Velma episode 4 Daphne and Shaggy working together was the closest the show's come to sorta having a working mystery setup going on, since Daphne likes danger and Shaggy has the inquisitiveness and intelligence Velma should have had

CN: Velma episode 4 I think spending an entire episode to come to the conclusion that "women can be hot and independent if they want" is embarrassing given that Nobara from Jujutsu Kaisen did it better in, like, 15 seconds youtu.be/CrOgGawQsOE?t=50
